I have references for it to be separate from Dog-baiting

[edit]

Basically what is in the title, I have references for animal-baiting in general. Leo1pard (talk) 14:05, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to redirect Dog-baiting to this article. There are no verifiable sources for the term "dog baiting" to be used for pitting dogs against tethered animals, baiting (by one definition) is that act. Several dictionary definitions for the verb "bait":

The dog-baiting article is a clear WP:FORK of this article. Cavalryman (talk) 02:00, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support as per WP:FOLK. Additionally, the article "Dog baiting" has been around since 2006 and consists of 3 sentences - as an article it is going nowhere. This Baiting article has a similar performance. William Harristalk 03:04, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. This fork dates to an era when someone was going around creating stubs for every imaginable "Dog something" or "Something (dogs)" even when there was no need of any such hyper-specific pages. We have a lot more such mergers to do. E.g. there are a bunch related to conformation and showing, coat colors, etc. There can sometimes be a reason to have a separate article on a color+species pattern (e.g. Calico cat), when we have sourced information about the genetics of it and it's unique to the species.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  14:46, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
