[edit]Why is this being nominated? This is in no way advertising. It is a future pay-per-view event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment, a major company. What is the problem? -- iMatthew T.C. 12:08, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Poster
[edit]That a great fake poster where was it taken —Preceding unsigned comment added by Supermike (talk • contribs) 22:30, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Well troll, try looking at the SOURCE. It's from In Demand, so it's real. TJ Spyke 22:33, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Ok one it Randy Orton on the poster it had brandy Orton 2nd it had the date and the name of Backlash wrong 3rd In Demand is not a good sources —Preceding unsigned comment added by Supermike (talk • contribs) 17:08, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
- You do realize you just made yourself look foolish and wrong? 1)Not sure what you are saying about "brandy Orton" (I remember the Backlash poster featuring Edge showing up before WrestleMania). 2)It had the RIGHT date on it (April 26). 3)In Demand IS a reliable source, they use the posters sent to them from companies and every other time we have used them they have been right. As for the poster changing, WWE itself has changed posters too (the WrestleMania XXV poster originally had Austin on it). TJ Spyke 17:18, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
John Cena vs. Christian
[edit]I just heard a rumour on a wrestling forum that there will be a Cena vs. Christian Match at Backlash 2009. The guy said he has sources within the WWE who told him that. Should we add it to the article? Giga9908 (talk) 21:53, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, because this is not the place for rumors. Matches are only added if they are confirmed by WWE (or something like the official poster, which is how we got the first match for Lockdown (2009). TJ Spyke 22:31, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- I still think you should add it to the article in my opinion.
My source is pretty well informed and how stupid would you look if you witheld this information and it was actually true? Just add it, whats the worst that can happen? Giga9908 (talk) 19:40, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, see WP:RS. Nobody would look stupid because a rumor ended up being true and we hadn't put the rumor in the article. This is a encyclopedia, not a rumor site. TJ Spyke 19:50, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- And I guess see WP:CRYSTAL. SuperSilver901 19:53, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Just add it to the article, no harm will be done! Giga9908 (talk) 23:18, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, it violates project policies, plus they are both faces and on different brands.--WillC---Joe's gonna kill you!!!) 23:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yes harm could be done. It could get vandals to think that it will be A-okay to start vandalizing with rumors, fake matches, themes, taglines, etc.--SuperSilver901 23:29, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
The point about them being on different brands is stupid. The wwe draft is after wrestlemania and either of them could turn heel if wwe wanted them to! Giga9908 (talk) 18:34, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Okay that still doesn't mean we're going to add them to the article. SuperSilver901 20:29, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Please just add it! Just do it for me! Please! Giga9908 (talk) 12:43, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, see WP:OR. Any more comments like that will be ignored because rumors are not ever gonna go in. TJ Spyke 16:38, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Why do you want it on there so bad, anyways?--SuperSilver901 01:46, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
- John Cena vs Edge is the match now, not Cena vs Christian, that is why we don't add rumours. Save Us.Y2J 5:00, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Randy Orn
[edit]Randy Orn will be officially competing in the title match at Backlash in place of Randy Orton, this was officially announced on RAW by Vickie Guerrero last night, therefore the edit stands. And I would like a response rather than an edit please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.153.107.246 (talk • contribs)
- "Orn" is how Guerrero pronounced it (since she is Hispanic [like myself], we have accents, which resulted her in saying as such]. Orton's proper name is Randy Orton.--Truco 17:39, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Exactly. It's no different than how William Regal used to always say "U-Manga" (God did that annoy the hell out of me). TJ Spyke 20:07, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- I think that either this guy is either making a racist joke or is complete idiot 82.2.58.174 (talk) 22:20, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Black6989
- Are you referring to me or Regal? Regal did use to pronounce Umaga's name completely wrong, he would even do it right after somebody pronounced it correctly in front of him. TJ Spyke 22:25, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

I think he is referencing the OP TJ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidbhoy2805 (talk • contribs)
Umaga is a samoan name, so "G" is pronounced "NG". William Regal actually pronounces it correctly, although because it is a name it can also be pronounced Umaga. It's not because he's British. I am from England and I (and everyone I know) say Umaga like most people. -Pawbarrow- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.195.2.217 (talk) 18:01, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- Lol I remember U-Manga that shit was funny. But seriously Orton isn't Orn and Vickie is one of the worst things about wrestling.LifeStroke420 (talk) 19:14, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah sorry i was talking about the first persons statement tj.86.27.150.181 (talk) 00:43, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Black6989
I wasn't giving the impression I was being racist, I was making a joke about how she said 'Orton'. Some people have speech problems, is that being racist too? -_-
Swagger vs Christian
[edit]So im guessin we all know its christian who defeated finlay at the new WWE Superstars show. But im also guessin we cannot put it on yet as it would ruin some peoples surprises.--Ruthless-paki (talk) 21:15, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- It has already aired, so it's fine. Brady4mvp (Talk) 00:31, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
[edit]On friday 17 april it was announced that there will be an "I Quit" match between Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy on Backlash —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gekker (talk • contribs) 11:58, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Wait till it airs.--WillC 12:00, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- I thought it already aired in the US since I watched it already. Sorry for that. Gekker 11:58, 17 April 2009 (UTC)</
- It is announced and aired. I watched it also —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bilal2009 (talk • contribs) 23:03, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Title Change through dq
[edit]Its been said numerous times by both commentators and last night on raw by Shane O Mac that if HHH gets himself dqed he loses the title and if Orton gets himself hunter retains! So should it not be noted? Thanks Adster95 21:07, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
- It already says that if Orton's team wins that Orton will win the title. It doesn't say by pinfall or submisson, just win the match in any way possible. TJ Spyke 20:14, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
CM Punk vs Kane
[edit]they announced it on wwe.com that kane will face CM Punk at backlash02:46, 22 April 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by SonsOfAnarchy1982 (talk • contribs)
ya this is 4 the money in the bank case.........stupid —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffcena4 (talk • contribs)
- WWE has made no such announcement about the MITB title shot being involved in any way. Don't believe every rumor these BS rumor sites say. TJ Spyke 03:12, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Why isn't this match in the main article saying when these matches were announced, like the 5 others? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.1.101 (talk) 11:05, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Also, I think that it might very well be for the MITB briefcase, as they just had a normal singles match on RAW this week, but we'll see eh? :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.1.101 (talk) 11:08, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
and their is a khali kiss kam!!
[edit]and their is a khali kiss kam!! he will kiss Santina Marella —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffcena4 (talk • contribs) 02:44, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- So? TJ Spyke 03:12, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- It's not a match so we won't put it under the matches section, but maybe we could put it in the background section. --SuperSilver901 20:01, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- If/when it happens, maybe. TJ Spyke 20:04, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- It was announced on Raw that Santina would have to kiss the Great Khali on the Kiss Cam live on Backlash. If that's not official, I don't know what is. It should be added to the Background section. Dahumorist (talk) 20:46, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- I meant when it happens on the event. It's not all that notable right now. When the summary of the event is written it can go in there. Maybe others disagree, but I don't think it is notable enough to put in right now. TJ Spyke 20:49, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- WWE has it under their matches section of the Backlash page (http://www.wwe.com/shows/backlash/matches/9959312/preview). You have no good reason to not list this as the 7th Backlash match.98.209.67.70 (talk) 15:46, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- They list non-match segments in their sometimes. It's not a match, so we are not gonna list it in the match section. You'd have to be an idiot to think that. TJ Spyke 16:16, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

More information
[edit]Can someone find the offical attendance and ppv buys for this event? Also, thanks for posting the time of matches --Cooly123 (talk) 15:50, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- The finalised buyrate won't be released until August. -- Oakster Talk 22:53, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Where are they?
[edit]What ever happened to the attendance at this event, won't it be listed anymore? Danny Boy 420 (talk) 20:17, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
