Attempting to bring page up to date, please do not revert
[edit]We are attempting to update basic biographical information on this page with accurate details. 11/15/2016, and somebody keeps reverting back to inaccurate and out of date information. PLEASE do not revert back to info that is more than a year out of date and inaccurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.150.27.130 (talk) 20:41, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
Major overhaul in progress
[edit]I'm not clear on what needs to take place or which company's article should have which information. From the looks of one source, Babcock & Wilcox became BWX Technologies on July 1, 2015. That source also suggests the nuclear power related businesses go under that second article, which already existed but referred to a unit of Babcock & Wilcox. I did that, even though what I moved was promotional sounding. I'm not clear on what historical information should go where, but I'm treating Babcock & Wilcox as if it is the parent company and the company that was there all along. If anyone can figure out what should be done, they are certainly welcome to do so.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:48, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

New York City subway false claim
[edit]The statement "In 1902, the New York City's first subway is powered by B&W boilers." is incorrect and misleading. The first subway line, the IRT, opened in october 1904, and was powered by electricity, not steam. If the "powered" refers to B&W steam boilers being used to power electric generators, it should be clarified. "The New York Subway: Its Construction and Equipment," published by the IRT in 1904 describes the boilers used in the power plant but does not mentioned who manufactured them. 68.230.153.193 (talk) 02:50, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
