Like as all of the new generation of a BMW cars, to make a new page for the new generation of the Serie 2 G42. Some many authoritative and reliable sources from the automotive sector and specialist site talk about this car as an example Autoexpress, auto moto und sport, bild, car and driver.... Therefore restored this edit https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1032587844 please. 217.171.73.199 (talk) 10:54, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your contribution, but instead of having creating a sub-par stub article, it's seems better to wait until we have a complete content (including engine specs etc) before separating it into its own article. Andra Febrian (talk) 12:35, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with you. You have canceled my change not for this reason. The relevance of a car is not given by the length of the item but by the sites that talk about it. Like all BMWs it deserves a separate item, I don't understand why this item would be an exception, plus they are two different cars in many respects. The stub are provided for by the guidelines. And the engine specific was written in the article and integrated in the template.217.171.68.145 (talk)
"You have canceled my change not for this reason." how do you know? "I don't understand why this item would be an exception" It is not and never an exception, to be clear I am not opposed of a separate article and never questioned the relevance/notability of the G42. But in this case, the article is currently just a summary of what the car is. What you did is copying that summary and added some words, which created WP:CFORK, the same content over two articles. I am totally in favour of separating it, only when there is sufficient content and the BMW 2 Series would contain a summary of the G42. Andra Febrian (talk) 13:11, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I propose that sections Second generation (G42; 2021) be split into a separate page called [BMW 2 Series (G42)]]. The content of the the G42 section should be like every other BMW model generation and be it's own article leaving this as just an overview of the different 2 series models.
