Litigation - NPOV
[edit]Tagged as having dubious NPOV as the addition does not speak on all of the relevant facts of the case. Suggest modifying this to either delete this section or include a discussion on BDO's defense. Furthermore, the second citation is solely just speculation at this point - this complaint has not been asserted in a court of law. Insbordnat (talk) 01:36, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
The NPOV should result in removal since facts are not supportive as to FINAL considerations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vumba (talk • contribs) 18:44, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Updates to the Miami Bank Fraud Controversy
[edit]In May 2011 there was an update to the facts of the Miami Bank Fraud controversy. As such, I'm suggesting updating the Miami Bank Fraud section (pending feedback) to state:
In August 2007 a jury in Miami awarded Banco Espirito Santo $521.7 million--$170 million in compensatory damages and nearly $352 million in punitive damages--over allegedly negligent audits that BDO conducted on a corrupt Espirito Santo subsidiary. On June 23, 2010 the Third District Court of Appeal of the state of Florida unanimously overturned the 2007 jury verdict against BDO, ruling that the firm had been denied a fair trial, and ordered that the case be retried in the 11th Circuit Court. [1] In May of 2011, BDO USA, LLP entered into confidential settlement agreement with Banco Espirito Santo which resolved the lawsuit against BDO. [2]
Pending any objections or discussion, I'd like to make the change to this section on January 24th. (JAMorrissey (talk) 22:25, 10 January 2012 (UTC))

Where does the acronym "BDO" come from?
[edit]Seems pretty basic information to include in an encyclopedia article on the company. More importantly, this article reads like an advertisement, brochure, or press release by the firm itself. Needs stricter, non-biased editing. Benefac (talk) 23:04, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
