Conflict of Interest

[edit]

There have been several extensive edits for Børge Brende, who serves as President of the World Economic Forum, by Mikeh101. This user, according to his own Wikipedia wall, was Editorial Director at the World Economic Forum since October 2010, and Senior Director, Communications, from July 2013 to October 2018. He was hence a paid marketing & communications employee of Brende and his team. The author's LinkedIn page even highlights him as Head of Digital Communications, Member of the Executive Committee at the World Economic Forum.

While probably unrelated, there seem to have further sock puppet accounts such as WhatsUpWorld that had an additional material impact on the article. It would make sense to take a look at this as we just had a severe case of unhighlighted paid editing for the article of Klaus Schwab as CEO of the World Economic Forum by another member of their Communications team. Nomination of removal of maintenance template

[edit]

I have gone through the changes made by Mikeh101. The edits appear to be mainly the addition of factual material that has been cited (from reliable primary sources) and does not change the piece in any material way. The edits do not veer anywhere into opinion or views. Although Mikeh101 clearly has a conflict of interest, none of the edits made appear to violate Wikipedia's guidelines. I have removed the template.Businessgeekinternational (talk) 10:30, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have reviewed the changes made by @Businessgeekinternational and others, deeming that the Conflict of Interest (COI) tag by @Polynesia2024 have been resolved. I deleted the maintenance template following the Wikipedia guidelines. Tustel (talk) 15:40, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Added Citations and Streamlined Sentence

[edit]

I have added the following citations:

1. "Børge Brende". Global Outlook. Retrieved 2022-03-23.

2. "China and Norway: Unpacking the Deal The normalization of China-Norway ties is the result of years of quiet diplomacy". The Diplomat. 25 December 2016.

3. "Norway 2010 | Financial Tracking Service". fts.unocha.org. Retrieved 2022-03-23.

I have also changed this sentence from:

"As Secretary General of Norwegian Red Cross Brende was leading two of the largest relief operations in the society's history; in Haiti and Pakistan." to "As Secretary General of Norwegian Red Cross Brende was leading some of the largest relief operations in the society's history; in Haiti and Pakistan"

in order to streamline the sentence and make it read better.Businessgeekinternational (talk) 11:06, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
