Suetonius on B.

[edit]

A minor point, but imo not entirely irrelevant. Suetonius "single sentence" in the article, while faithful to Racine's Préface, is a cut-and-paste of two distinct passages in the Life of Titus (Ch. 7). First Suetonius mentions Titus' " passion for queen Berenice, to whom it was also said that he promised marriage" (reginae Berenices amorem, cui etiam nuptias pollicitus ferebatur). A few lines further Suetonius adds that Titus "dismissed Berenice from Rome right away, against her and his own will"."Berenicen statim ab urbe dimisit invitus invitam".
