Some work needed here
[edit]Two issues:
1. The population statistics could each be right, but I doubt it. I didn't find either one at the cited sources.
2. I've changed some of the more egregious grammatical mistakes, but someone with more knowledge of the village needs to do some serious rewriting here. atakdoug 07:23, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Population of Avoch is 1,020 - the latest (mid-2004) population estimate from the General Register Office for Scotland. 92.12.15.15 (talk) 12:40, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Population figures clarified and article copy-edited; both flags removed (although population conflict had already been resolved). Regards, David. Harami2000 (talk) 12:32, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Pronunciation
[edit]Does it rhyme with "loch"? If so the IPA should be ˈɒx. Lfh (talk) 12:06, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
Contributions to the wealth of Avoch
[edit]Fishing continues to be a major element of the Avoch economy, and its culture. Sources are hard to find for income or economic asset distribution at the village level but direct reference to the number of boats owned in the village, number of commuters travelling to Inverness, and number of tourist businesses based in the village would seem to indicate these as the main economic drivers, whilst direct observation of the carparks also indicate that the shops serve more than just the village. — Preceding comment added by Teuchter20 (talk • contribs) 22:23, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Avochie dialect and culture
[edit]Needs a section on the distinctive dialect, surnames and commercial fishing character of Avoch in contrast to the rest of the Black Isle. — Preceding comment added by Teuchter20 (talk • contribs) 22:28, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
