[edit]I feel that Avner Strauss deserves a Wikipedia entry/page as an artist in good standing who has contributed to the Israeli music scene since the early 1970's.
This entry may need improving and fattening up, but it should not be deleted.
Avner is considered a virtuoso guitarist (and has won a number of awards as such), He has also been a guitar and music teacher to many contemporary artists (for example Jazz guitarist Amos Hoffman, guitarist Aharon ben Ari) and even pop stars on the Israeli scene (for example, Ehud Banai).
Through his sincere love of music, Avner has inspired many younger musicians over the years to pick up an instrument, and to explore the vast history and legacy of modern American music (Jazz, Blues, Folk, Bluegrass). His musical instrument store in Jerusalem ("Effect") in the 1980's was a general resource center for any and all musicians who dropped by. Avner has also helped out a number of other artists in producing their own record albums.
Avner has also helped to organize a number of music festivals in Jerusalem (the annual Hotzot Hayotzer festival)and Tel Aviv (the International Guitar Festival which ran from the late 1980's to the early 2000's)

[edit]I've just closed the AFD for this article as "keep" but when reviewing the history, I couldn't help but notice that the username of one of the contributers, user:Avner Strauss suggests he may be the subject of this article. While this is not prohibited it is strongly discouraged. Please review our conflict of interest, autobiography, and neutral point of view guidelines. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 00:52, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
