A fact from Avignon Exchange appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 16 August 2008, and was viewed approximately 1,534 times (disclaimer) (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:

"Unlike Jesus..."
[edit]"Unlike Jesus, the Avignon popes did not object to the close proximity of religious centers and currency exchange."
That doesn't seem like proper tone to me... gren グレン 04:33, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

It is also inaccurate. Jesus didn't object to "the close proximity," he objected to the currency exchange being IN the Temple (Matthew 21:12; Mark 11:15; Luke 19:45; John 2:14). The Temple area referred to is the Court of the Gentiles, a part of the Temple complex. It would be analogous to having the currency exchange in the narthex or vestibule of a Christian church. 76.123.208.229 (talk) 11:44, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
