Atg5 is E3 ligase?

[edit]

Atg5 is the substrate of Atg12 and can form complex with Atg16. However, the E3 ligase of Atg5 is not defined as far as I know. Could anybody give citation of "Atg5 is ubiquitin E3 ligase"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.222.52.183 (talk) 16:04, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here E3-like activitiy of Atg12-5 for Atg8 is described first: Hanada T, Noda NN, Satomi Y, Ichimura Y, Fujioka Y, Takao T, Inagaki F, Ohsumi Y. 2007. The Atg12-Atg5 conjugate has a novel E3-like activity for protein lipidation in autophagy. J Biol Chem. 282(52). PMID: 23064152 --134.95.232.136 (talk) 12:33, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
