The template {{ADB}} using this format

  • {{ADB|last= "author last name" |first= "Author first name" |authorlink= "Author article" |year= "publish year" |id= "htm page from ADB" |title= "ADB article title" |accessdate= "access date" }} is now available Gnangarra 08:27, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ADB also a German biography

[edit]

See Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie and Neue Deutsche Biographie. Thus, when translating bios, the German ADB template (de:Vorlage:ADB) links to the Australian template:ADB. How can that be fixed? -- Matthead  DisOuß   08:16, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please now cite as:

[edit]

Revised template due to above disambiguation problem - now need to cite:

  • {{Australian Dictionary of Biography |last= "author last name" |first= "author first name" |authorlink= "author article (optional)" |year= "publish year" |id= "htm page from ADB" |title= "ADB article title" |accessdate= "access date (using YYYY-MM-DD format)"}}

Licensing

[edit]

Is Australian Dictionary of Biography public domain source? If yes, what is the reason? See also Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Australia/To-do/Australian Dictionary of Biography#DAB and ADB. If no, there are still some texts directly from this source with this reference in various wikipedia articles. --Snek01 (talk) 21:48, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I updated the link for reference #2 ("Launch of online edition of the ADB") because the previous link was not working, but the only ADB page I could find which mentions the Manning Clark House award does not mention the online launch. Wednesday 7pm (talk) 09:29, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I now think it's likely the ADB Online site is just experiencing temporary difficulties and the article's previous links were correct. I'm sorry for jumping in too quickly. I'll undo my changes now. Wednesday 7pm (talk) 10:13, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

While the article has been rated as low in importance, I believe it should be rated as higher - this is a mjor scholarly work for Australians. I rate it at least as medium in importance and have changed the rating.--Golden Wattle talk 23:14, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
