Appointment to the House of Lords from High Court

It might be interesting to uncover why Lord Uthwatt was appointed to the House of Lords directly from the High Court (completely bypassing the Court of Appeal). Even if not a sigificant story in itself, for completeness, it might be useful to include this aspect of his story in the Wiki.Perennial Student (talk) 15:25, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
