Need to add Infobox Christian leader
[edit]{{Infobox Christian leader}} should be added to this article. — MrDolomite • Talk 17:07, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Removal of citations
[edit]For some unknown reason, JoeHebda has repeatedly removed citations from the text and placed them as external links. Citations and external links aren't at all the same thing; they serve different purposes. Citations provide the source for the information stated in the text. Sources are absolutely essential for the information included on Wikipedia. External links are to sites outside Wikipedia that contain further information relevant to the topic of the article. Please stop removing citations. 32.218.32.65 (talk) 14:15, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
Confused
[edit]Being somewhat new to wikipedia, I'm a little confused as to when a source goes to 'References' section vs 'External links' section.
For example, on article Joseph G. Pinten references #4 and #6 are both to external site, yet they are both flagged as 'Better source needed' in the References. These references are both an outside link.
On another of the bio articles I updated, feedback stated that www.catholic-hierarchy.org is Not a reliable source. So how does a person know whether a source (website) is reliable source?
Still thinking about first paragraph explanation. Sorry if I re-state as it helps me to understand.
Citations (References) for Source for text info just written.
External links = outside links to relevant to topic, but not for specific text.
Guess I'm confused when a Citation is an outside link....maybe some good examples will help.

More digging, Biography
[edit]Found this article Template:Biography that explains more of above. Wondering how to know if a source is reliable or not? JoeHebda (talk) 19:35, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
Additional External links
[edit]Here are some new External links to be added. Being somewhat new to Wikipedia, would appreciate any feedback/corrections before posting this into article.
- Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Archbishop Frederick Xavier Katzer: Bishop Schinner mention
- Catholic Herald, September 6, 1934: Bishop Schinner at Newburg jubilee
- Diocese of Spokane, Historical Photographs: Bishop Schinner
- Find-a-Grave: Augustine F Schinner
- The Milwaukee Journal, February 8, 1937, page 13: Bishop Is Dead Here, Bishop Schinner
Currently, I'm still unclear as to whether or not any of these can/should be used as Ref in the article text.
