Notes

[edit]

The content of the atmospheric methane removal article is underdeveloped but shows a good framework for the content that should be included in the article. The topics do not go too in depth but are good information/ background for the topic. The article focuses more on geoengineering atmospheric methane removal and not as much on the natural process. There is not as much background and chemistry overview as there could be, which is something that would be good to mention. A methane cycle overview and the reasoning methane is important and a concern would also be good to mention. For the most part, the geoengineering portion is laid out well.

The tone of this article is a bit elementary and not as scientific and academic as it could be. The tone remains very neutral despite these traits. The paragraphs do not go very in depth and do not give enough detail. The article should be rewritten/ edited to include more information to convey the topic in a more eloquent tone.

The article’s sources are all very up to date and are the best part of the article. There are about 15 sources, and the majority of them appear to be tertiary sources. I plan on looking through the article and assessing the sources more thoroughly to see which ones are reliable for me to draw information from. Some of the sources do seem a bit random, so it would be nice to either look further into the relation to the article and see what the author was trying to convey or remove them.
