Qualifiers
[edit]@Lugnuts: Hi again. I have created the new season with the bare bones that we have so far. For qualifiers, could you check the year formats? I see you created the Africa qualifier as 2020–21 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier. In the past qualifiers have sometimes been labelled as the year in which they took place, and other times (perhaps more commonly in other sports) as the year in which the finals take place (e.g. 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers). On this page, I have labelled the section as 2021 ICC T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Group B, but I'm not sure if you would prefere it to say 2020–21, or 2020 (as that is when this particular group takes place) or 2021 (as it is for the 2021 T20 World Cup not the 2020 T20 World Cup). Will go with whatever you think. Bs1jac (talk) 10:17, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
- Nice work! I think it's fine how you've done it. I've based the title for this round of Africa qualifiers as being across 2020 and 2021, per the last one being across two years and that the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup itself takes place at the very end of 2021. So my thinking is the regional groups will take place during this year, with the regional final(s) possibly taking place next year. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:21, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
- Yep I also expect the regional finals to be in 2021, so what you have done on the Africa page makes sense. It is confusing having two events in consecutive years as the qualifiers for 2021 are played ahead of the 2020 tournament, so calling them 2020 qualifiers makes it look like they are for the 2020 event!
