This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because <replace these words with your reason>. Seriously guys, are you kidding me? I take offense of this tag. That guy was the German occupation commandant of the Nantes district and the highest German ranking officer executed by the Resistance to date. His execution led to widespread retaliation and the shooting of 50 hostages, among whom Guy Môquet. Nantes became companion of the Liberation out of this.
