Notability
[edit]Why is this borehole notable? I notice we don't have a Category:Boreholes, so what makes this specific borehole the only one on Wikipedia worth its own article? Moreover, the article appears to focus almost exclusively on mindless statistics which have no relevance to a global encyclopedia, more a handout from a company. I will nominate the article for deletion in due course. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:41, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- It's notable because it has significant coverage in reliable sources. Case closed. QED. --Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 19:50, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- Sure, nothing to worry about at all when it goes to AFD then. I just find it staggering that we think that this kind of crap is worth main page inclusion for a DYK. Still, that's not the fault of the author or the proposers. Little wonder DYK is still the most "hilarious" part of the main page! P.S. if you give so much of a damn, could you do something about the nine separate red links here, that would make it more palatable for inclusion on the fourth-most visited website in the universe... - Just out of interest, at what point does citizen's voice become a WP:RS? The Rambling Man (talk) 20:48, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- I should think that The Citizens' Voice, a newspaper of 40 year's standing and a circulation of 32,000, is a pretty credible source. --Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 21:46, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hardly, particularly from its description, it looks entirely biased, not in keeping with NPOV at all. But hey, there you go. Great borehole article, can't wait for more. The Rambling Man (talk) 04:40, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
- This borehole shows the importance of coal mine polution in Pennsylvania, and should be kept.--DThomsen8 (talk) 20:19, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
