Cite

[edit]

Al Jazera has a cite template, and I need one for this. Here's my first attempt using cite web template. [1]

  1. ^ Kaewmala, guest contributor (August 14, 2011). "Thailand's First Female Prime Minister vs Thai Feminists" (blog). news. Asian Correspondent. Retrieved August 14, 2011. As soon as Pheu Thai victory catapulted Yingluck to the national top spot and it became clear she was to become prime minister, several Thai feminists were already expressing their disapproval. {{cite web}}: |first= has generic name (help)

<ref>{{cite web |url= http://asiancorrespondent.com/62359/thailands-first-female-prime-minister-and-thai-feminists/ |title= Thailand’s First Female Prime Minister vs Thai Feminists |accessdate= August 14, 2011 |author= Kaewmala |last= |first= guest contributor |date= August 14, 2011 |format= blog |work= news |publisher= [[Asian Correspondent]] |quote= As soon as Pheu Thai victory catapulted Yingluck to the national top spot and it became clear she was to become prime minister, several Thai feminists were already expressing their disapproval.}}</ref> {{reflist}} --Pawyilee (talk) 12:38, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cite news in Asian Correspondent suggestion:
short form from Template:Cite news

<ref>{{cite news |title= |author= |url= |newspaper=[[Asian Correspondent]] |date= <!-- in words, same date format as in article. When absent, consider using {{cite web}} instead.--> |accessdate=<!--same date format --> |quote= <!--lede of article or paragraph -->}}</ref> {{reflist}}

ESSENTIAL
  1. title: Title of the article, one line; no quotations marks, italics or other formatting. Reduce "all capitals" to title case.
  2. newspaper: Asian Correspondent. Can also be used for the name of a column or subpart of an issue; may be wikilinked by adding |Name]]. Do not italicize; the software will do so automatically.
  3. date: in words, same date format as in the main text of the article. When this information is absent for an online source consider using {{cite web}} instead.
Optional
  1. Byline: Bylines such as John Doe, guest commentator may be produced by |last= John Doe |first = Guest commentator. --Pawyilee (talk) 06:09, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Terms of use

[edit]

Asian Correspondent content except for photographs, under Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 3.0. AP content ©AP. --Pawyilee (talk) 05:43, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I wish some editor more knowledgeable than me would jump in here. I'm not sure Wiki accepts CC BY-NC-ND for text, as even "humanized" licenses still confuse me. It's my opinion that AC's license should be mentioned in the lede and linked to their terms, and noting that Associated Press feeds bear AP's full copyright warning. --Pawyilee (talk) 06:20, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
