Addressing Issues with Tatkal Ticket Booking Process

Dear Honorable Minister of Railways,

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to bring to your attention a significant issue faced by passengers during the Tatkal ticket booking process on IRCTC and related platforms.

Many passengers, including myself, have encountered the following problem:

1. When booking a Tatkal ticket, the system initially shows seat availability during the selection process.


2. Upon proceeding to payment, the transaction is successfully completed.


3. However, after the payment is processed, the ticket status often changes to "Waiting List" instead of confirming the seat.


This situation not only causes confusion and inconvenience for passengers but also leads to financial and emotional distress, especially for those traveling urgently or under critical circumstances.

I kindly request the Ministry of Railways to:

1. Investigate and resolve this technical glitch to ensure transparency and accuracy during the booking process.


2. Implement safeguards to block payments unless seat availability is guaranteed.


3. Offer immediate refunds or alternative solutions for affected passengers.


Your attention to this matter would greatly improve the travel experience for millions of passengers and uphold trust in the Indian Railways system.
