Middle name
[edit]An editor professing a conflict of interest attempted to change the middle name. In trying to verify the change, I found contradictory sources:
- Cricket Archive lists him as John.
- ESPN Cricinfo lists him as James.
Those are the only two publishers cited as sources. With two roughly equal sources contradicting, I've removed the middle name. The claims of an alleged relative aren't verifiable and can't be used to support the change. —C.Fred (talk) 23:58, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- The sites quoted are not reliable sources. Try the Cricket Australia or WACA websites. There are further errors in the introductory paragraph - but it is a bit unnecessarily complicated to edit and correct (Spinattack (talk) 15:51, 25 July 2013 (UTC))
- Further, the middle name James is confirmed by the espncricinfo site and does verify the 'alleged relatives' advice. It is a bit troubling that incorrect information can be posted and thus published (incorrectly) holds some weight when challenged and has no basis in fact. Incorrect information once published remains incorrect. (Spinattack (talk) 16:08, 25 July 2013 (UTC))
