New content
[edit]I have recently added some content in the article. The content are having some references of the articles in WP like Sachin Pilgaonkar and Mahesh Kothare. How to give those reference. Pls. help. Also I have collected information from some books which I am giving the references. Coolgama (talk) 11:04, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
- Wikipedia articles (in any language) never qualify as reliable sources. The other two sources also appear unreliable. One was a blog. The other just claimed to be a collection of info about Marathi film stars...but didn't list an editorial team, or any evidence that they have a history of fact checking, as required by WP:RS. Books may be fine; all you need to provide are the publisher, author, title, and year of publication; if you have an ISBN, that would be ideal. Make sure the books are published by reputable publishers (i.e., no Wikipedia mirrors, no self-published books); ideally, the authors should be important/experts in their field. - I would suggest to put the material with references on the talk page which was removed so that other editors also can give the opinion about it. Thanks. --Abhijeet Safai (talk) 06:23, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

- ToI articles can surely be used. Surprised to see that such famous actor's article don't have contents. neo (talk) 08:31, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
- His website is only okay for completely non-controversial, non-promotional info. So nothing like "won award X", but for biographical info, it's okay (unless that info is disputed by independent RS). TOI is definitely RS, though we have to be careful on BLP info. movieslist, IMDB, and those others do not meet WP:RS. Qwyrxian (talk) 09:21, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
