Notability

[edit]

There still isn't much evidence of the notability of this group in the article. Have there been any articles published about them? Have they charted on any national chart? Do they have any gold records? For that matter, what record label were they on? They did win the CARA awards, but I don't think that counts as a major music award. Adding information of this sort would help to establish the notability of the group. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 01:40, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think, as a folk music group, they are more likely to be covered in the folk music press. There is an review from Living Tradition magazine included as a reference. According to their Website, there was a features in an edition of fRoots magazine ([1]), and reviews for a number of their albums in the magazine also ([2]). Unfortunately, they don't include a copy of the articles on the website, just an issue number. Both Living Tradition and fRoots are established Folk/Roots Magazines. FRoots (according to their website), has a circulation of 12,000.
I've found a couple of other references. One in the Telegraph ([3]), although that's more about the Birdsedge Festival the Bedfords were (and I assume still are) involved in. Also, this one ([4]), which is mainly the lyrics of the song "What's the use of wings?", but with a brief description of the song. Look at the group's website, they quote quite a few reviews from notable publications ([5]). I'll see if I can source some of that. Also, they claim to have been on radio and TV (the BBC and other networks) on their website, which I think would support notability, if I can find good external sources.
