The sources for the "criticism" section are opinion articles written by individuals. Specifically, the claims that the public force has been used for repression and participate in US-guided military operations are based on individual opinions with no further sources. To my knowledge, the criticism claims are simply untrue or at best misleading. I am not aware of any strong widespread criticism to the Public Force, both inside or outside of Costa Rica, but maybe someone finds serious literature (academic studies, or theses for example) that can better back the claims.
