arthur J. Colgan and Ellen Stack Colgan house in Edgemont,SD
[edit]Being the great granddaughter of these two amazing and historical figures of south dakota I was so excited to learn of their house being on the national historic registry. I have many memories in this house because my grandma Mary Colgan Nequette moved to this house as a small child and bought the home from her brothers and sister. She then raised her only child my dad Robert Colgan in this house. Her husband Archie Robert Nequette had his law office in this house also. Ive been told tyhere were many weddings and it was the first house to have running water, electricity and then the telephone. My grandma sold the house in 1976 at the age of 85 and then lived the rest of her life in sturgis, sd. Over the years I have watched her home fall into extreme disrepair from its once majestic appearance. It makes me sad to see this and I am hoping whomever owns this house will be able to make it restored tts once regal and beautiful home. It has many historical moments oin those walls. 24.111.56.92 (talk) 04:28, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
