He was cremated on 29 November 1955 at Cambridge Crematorium. At his request, his ashes were scattered at Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve in the South Downs near Chichester in West Sussex, which he had done much to help found. A memorial stone to him may now be seen there.

Good day sir ,may i ask a question? regarding in quadrat measurement, in quadrat measurements there is a 4 station because it is a square form , my question is why taking a sample in the midle of quadrat is not possible?
