[edit]

It is fairly significant to his life and death that he was an alcoholic. The only cite I can find online, a ct paper, requires a subscription.

He was also fired by his brother for missing deadlines for the ibm/360. Tom jr. blames himself for giving him too much responsibility too soon, and for Arthur’s prior lack of exposure to the manufacturing/technical side of the industry. I don’t have access to Tom jr. bio/autobiography which revealed this. Student7 (talk) 21:46, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Student7: what you described is covered by https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2024/01/ibm-greatest-capitalist-tom-watson/676147/ if you want to add it. Much of the article has been removed for copyright violation of his IBM profile on the company's website. - Indefensible (talk) 02:23, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
