cobbled
[edit]Cobbled together some notes on Dewey from past papers once I realized there was no article, not even a stub, for Art as Experience. Feel free to edit or challenge the 'Overview'--it's been some years since I've read it, and my notes, taken from a paper on Heidegger (?), were written in some speed. --Dean Hunt (talk) 11:36, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Barnes
[edit]The article should include information about Dewey's connection to the Barnes Foundation. It is possible that the whole book is an attempt to increase the value of Barnes's collection. Instead of art being the traditional skilled depiction of external objects, its main purpose is to be "an experience." This justifies the lack of draftsmanship that is apparent in the art in Barnes's collection.Lestrade (talk) 20:45, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Lestrade
