[edit]I believe he just stepped down from the position of chairman recently...--Rockero420 23:56, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
The California Democratic Party's website still shows him as chairman, as well as Google searches--maybe they're outdated? --Butros 06:10, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
I got an email from the CDP not too long ago (less than two weeks ago) that was signed by Art Torres "former CDP Chairman". But I reall don't know--haven't read it in the papers or anything. We can leave it as it is for now.--Rockero420 06:42, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
OK, I'll be on the lookout for any relevant info. --Butros 07:20, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Remark re Proposition 187
[edit]In the article's section headed "Political activity and public service," it is said that Torres's remark about Proposition 187 was made in January 1995, months after the proposition's passage. A report in support of that chronology is at http://www.vdare.com/articles/ccirs-greatest-hits-the-reconquista-rant-audio-clips
In the audio -- which may be heard at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubKgq5nv3o8 -- Torres seems to be saying that 187 is "on the ballot." This, obviously, suggests that the statement was made before the proposition's passage. Maybe there's a simple explanation of this apparent inconsistency, which I'm merely noting.108.52.83.38 (talk) 18:57, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

This biography is terrible. What is the Anti-American garbage inserted in here? It is totally libelous and ridiculous. I was using this for reference for a news story and then found the right wing diatbre in here and now wonder about the Wikipedia. Terrible! |

Source for his term as chairman of the California Democratic Party (CaDem)?
[edit]I found this constracting source: [1]. It states that Bob Mulholland was CaDem chair since 1994. Muholland is also labelled as CaDem chair in this 1999 video: [2]. While Muholland clearly isn't chair now, we need to make sure we have a source for Torres' term as CaDem chairman. Emass100 (talk) 05:50, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
- Found it [3], no more issue. Emass100 (talk) 02:06, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
