toronto pride / gay rights
[edit]This page was very clearly edited to provide a sympathetic light to Eggleton's views on gays during his time as mayor. The only citation is from a letter to the editor written 25 years later by eggleton himself. There are plenty of examples of him dismissing the gay community wholesale as "thrusting their sexuality on others" and being "inappropriate." He was also mayor during Toronto's bathhouse raids where hundreds of gay men were arrested and charged. Until recently he was an active politician so I have no doubt that staffers have been in here, but for the rest of us: let's not re-write history.
appointed by
[edit]This should be the governor general who made the appointment, not the prime minister. Senators are appointed by the GG on the advice of the PM. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.90.158.194 (talk) 05:12, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
