Spam

[edit]

The article has a glut of obscure, unreliable sources which appear to be churnalism or press releases. These sources are used to support WP:PEACOCK words and similar promotionalisms. Additionally, the list of awards includes far too many non-notable achievements which are not contextualized or supported by reliable sources which are independent of the awards. These are just some of the reasons I've tagged the article as being similar to advertisement. Grayfell (talk) 07:33, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Grayfell: Hello. Please check the article again. I hope it now complied with the policies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SteveDorf (talkcontribs) 07:47, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Are you joking? It's still pretty much the same. You removed a paltry handful of bad sources, but there is still a lot of spam, and the peacock problem is untouched. Most of the non-notable awards are still there, as well. You also still have not disclosed any conflict of interest you have on your talk page. Grayfell (talk) 07:50, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia isn't a resume hosting service. Listing everything he's done, like the Wordpress plugin, just makes this look trashy. Also, why is his height included? How do you even know that? That's a pretty good sign that this is an autobiography. Am I wrong? Grayfell (talk) 07:54, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Grayfell: autobiography might have been the case because the original creator of the page does not exist anymore and has not editing the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SteveDorf (talkcontribs) 08:19, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please remember to sign your posts, otherwise template:ping does nothing.
The creator does not exist anymore? How do you know that? Both you and Shiv Kherappa (talk · contribs) are single purpose accounts who've only edited this article (or added links to this article). That account ceased activity (but still exists) about a week before you began editing, over a year ago. Other than you two, almost nobody else has edited this article at all. I hope I don't have to spell-out why that raises red flags. Again, please disclose any conflict of interest you have on your talk page. Grayfell (talk) 08:52, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, You're the one who added height!. Sheesh. Grayfell (talk) 08:56, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (It is in violation with Wikipedia policies and is damaged beyond the scope of repair) --SteveDorf (talk) 05:33, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You're contesting the speedy deletion tag you put on the article yourself? Wikt:contest#verb means you are opposed to its deletion, not that you want it deleted. Since you have not actually stated a policy this violated, or given any other reason this meets Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, tagging this page for speedy is inappropriate. What policies does it violate? How is it damaged? Grayfell (talk) 06:04, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This page fails all guidelines for a living biographies and must speedily be deleted. This looks like a cheap resume/popularilty page more than anything.

Complete show cause of article shortening, d/t spam and fraudulent material

[edit]

All users are welcome to debate me in the talk page about the credibility of the article content, however, they must not revert the edit without proving to me otherwise. This article has multiple problems in it that I have given an expansive show cause to explain why I conducted the edits.

"Though honored two times by consecutive Presidents of India" Specified Reference: http://www.indianweb2.com/2014/10/21/interview-with-arsh-shah-dilbagi/ is a first person interview with no third person input whatsoever, negates completely as a source, also, web source is questionable. "he was globally recognised at the age of 16" -Self proclamation. Violates WP:PEACOCK

"He also won four awards at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2015 held in Pittsburgh, USA" Specified Reference : https://www.societyforscience.org/content/press-room/intel-isef-2015-grand-award-winners - only shows 1 award of a 3rd position.

"In April 2015, Dilbagi was appointed as the Brand Ambassador of India STEM Foundation,[7] an NGO that promotes STEM education through robotics and hosts competitions like World Robot Olympiad and FIRST LEGO League in India." India STEM Foundation is not a notable organisation, bear in mind, the wikipedia link is towards the 'topic' of STEM and not the organisation, also the advertorial aspect of the writing, along with no cross referencing, the only reference available to us is the India STEM foundation website.

"It is a research project with an aim to develop an Artificially Intelligent Neural Network to induce self-learning of walking in a quadruped robot." Self learning and artificial neural network robotics is not the same as taking sensory values from the robot.

"It attracts thousands of visitors every week and inspires them to pursue robotics. The museum was inaugurated by the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee on August 5, 2015" - Advertorial content WP:PEACOCK

"Bitruder A Non-Motorized Dual Extruder for Rep-Rap 3D Printers to enable such printers to simultaneously print with two cartridges.[18] It uses only the basic components of a Prusa i3 Rep-Rap 3D Printer without the need of any additional hardware." Specified Reference : http://www.yesmagazine.org/people-power/these-14-teenage-inventors-made-a-glove-that-translates-sign-language This reference does not contain any mention of Bitruder, it only consists of TALK, http://robo.im/work : First person website, additionally, does not contain anything. http://www.rediff.com/getahead/report/achievers-these-indian-teenagers-won-google-science-fair-2014-awards/20140924.htm : Again, does not contain ANY mention of Bitruder, it again only consists of TALK. [Now this pattern has been repeated in an almost copycat fashion, there is one link from the individual's personal website, and two other including TALK, with NO mention of the given project, also reinforcing @Grayfell's point, of the article being an autobiography, severe conflicts of interest. You can see this pattern repeating with all of the inventions stated in the article in a very spammish manner, we don't know if these articles are even real, because the user's personal website has removed the content, or made it inaccessible as of 20th february 2017, the works page is not working.

"VIKI Offline voice controlled home automation system. VIKI stands for Virtual Interactive Kinect Intelligence.[20] It understands speech commands and control the appliances connected to it." Specified Reference: https://themighty.com/2014/08/teens-invention-could-revolutionize-the-way-people-with-disabilities-communicate/ Does not contain any link to VIKI, only TALK. http://robo.im/work Self website with the work link hidden http://www.travelerstoday.com/articles/11924/20140915/arsh-shah-dilbagi-wonder-teen-first-develop-device-converting-breath.htm ANOTHER article including only TALK and no mention of VIKI whatsoever.

"WP-Thumbnail Realtime screenshot generating plugin for WordPress. It is a simple WordPress Plugin that allows the user to use a short-code to generate dynamic screenshot of webpages and save a link of the same in posts as well as take a real-time snapshot of the served webpage." Specified Reference: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2756713/Talk-NOSE-16-year-old-invents-gadget-translates-breaths-Morse-code-help-disabled-people-communicate.html As i mentioned, an article on TALK no mention of WP-Thumbnail. http://robo.im/work Self website with the work link hidden.

"Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) A working prototype of a semi-autonomous heavy duty robotic vehicle capable of operating over a wide variety of terrains. The cognitive process for maneuvering the vehicle was managed through sensory inputs such as wireless web-camera. It could be loaded with an array of sensors capable of performing need based tasks." Specified Reference: http://www.inquisitr.com/1476635/billiant-teens-device-turns-ones-breaths-into-words-video/ Again another article of TALK with no mention of UGV http://robo.im/work Self website with the work link hidden. http://www.nbcnews.com/tech/innovation/irish-teens-win-google-science-fair-taking-global-hunger-n211756 Another article with mention of TALK with no mention of UGV whatsoever.

"BIPED Static locomotion bipedal robot with an aim of developing a walking platform capable of locomotion with 6 independent servos. Specified Reference: https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/budding-scientist/7-amazing-google-science-fair-projects/ Again another article with a mention of TALK with no mention of BIPED" http://robo.im/work Self website with the work link hidden.

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Food Factor Challenge: Best Robot Run Trophy in FLL 2011, Food Factor Challenge held at Chandigarh, India.[25] Specified Reference Citation: "Arsh Shah Dilbagi: Winner of First LEGO League the Food Factor Edition". TravelersToday. Actual Article Title: Arsh Shah Dilbagi: Wonder Teen, First To Develop Device Converting Breath To Speech At Google Science Fair Extremely Fraudulent.

The notable awards page has been cleaned up to not include the same award thrice.

The entire material of this article has been written in an extremely biased and autobiographical manner which is in direct violation of WP:PEACOCK, furthermore, as @Grayfell has pointed towards, the main editing body, SteveDorf has conflicts of Interests with Arsh Shah Dilbagi. It is not to deny that the individual is notable, a winner in GSF definitely is, however every other invention/project is completely source-less. All users are welcome to debate me in the talk page about the credibility of the article content, however, they must not revert the edit without proving to me otherwise.
