Karloff
[edit]The final sentence of the first paragraph: "If not for the stage play, Karloff would have played the same role in the film." seems obscure. It isn't clear how the stage play prevented Karloff from appearing in the film. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toddmg (talk • contribs) 14:03, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Usually being in such a successful Broadway play is so time-consuming that there really isn't time to do much else (including a film adaptation of the very play you're in.) — Cinemaniac (talk) 23:18, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
According to Joseph McBride's book on Frank Capra, the producers of the play were already lending out much of their main cast for the eight-week shoot, and therefore didn't want to lose a star attraction like Karloff as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.170.129.73 (talk) 18:00, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Compare/Contrast with actual play?

[edit]I believe A&OL is one, if not THE one, most reprised theater script ever. Opinions? Published data? 70.124.60.80 (talk) 14:22, 27 August 2012 (UTC) yamaplos
