Notability
[edit]This article is a brief introduction about a distinct person who has made well recognized contribution to theoretical chemistry. He is very famous in the chemical society all around the world. So it's not a simply personal introduction of a friend or family person.—Preceding unsigned comment added by LSAT001 (talk • contribs)
- Please see WP:BIO Can you give a link which establishes his notability--NotedGrant Talk 08:24, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- As reviewing administrator, I see very well that he is notables A full Professor of Chemical Engineering at one of the two principle universities for the subject of Engineering in the world is almost unquestionably notable, per WP:PROF--as shown most simply in this case by awards. The article does need sources for the awards, and a reference for the basic bio. & CV information--a official web site does very well for that. BUT make sure that none of this is copied from a web site, even his own. (It is possible to give permission according to WP:DCM, but it is almost always much easier to simply rewrite the necessary portion.)
BTW, I would add a list of the 3 or 4 most cited papers & their citation counts, from Web of Science. DGG ( talk ) 10:15, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- I've added a bit more to this page, including a brief bio sketch and summary of Kupperman's notable awards. The article I've given as a reference is one of his most cited works according to Google Scholar, which shows 336 citations (another, companion article shows 386 citations). See here: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C33&q=aron+kuppermann&btnG=&oq=aron+kupper . Hope this is helpful, cheers. KeeYou Flib (talk) 20:08, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- Added an additional edit to clarify that Kuppermann was the first to publish a fully 3D quantum calculation of a chemical reaction, which clearly speaks to his notability. I would also point out that a JSTOR search under "A. Kuppermann" shows 61 hits, as opposed to the null result that "Aaron Kuppermann" generates. Google Scholar shows thousands and thousands of citations of his work. KeeYou Flib (talk) 03:32, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
