Alternative names

The article right now has this:

"Aromatase (EC 1.14.14.14), also called estrogen synthetase or estrogen synthase"

So I do not dispute it may have either of these alternative names, perhaps both. But in biochemistry I learned that synthetases are more complex and require ATP whereas synthases are simpler and do not need ATP. I do not know whether this is correct, but if it is then I believe the name "synthase" would be wrong here, and should not be used. Either way it may be useful to research a bit which alternative name is used more commonly and frequently or perhaps some scientific papers that mention these names clearly. 2A02:8388:1643:D680:7C20:EEFA:982E:22B7 (talk) 21:46, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
