Improve article with outside sources

[edit]

What would help this article, in a manner consistent with Wikipedia policies, would be to find as much material as possible about the agency written by sources outside the agency (news articles, etc.). User:HopsonRoad 16:40, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ref Improve Tag

[edit]

AGC-Webmaster - HopsonRoad is right. Most of the references cited are self-authored by AGC personnel, and the article needs to have its references improved. And just because you are the AGC's webmaster does not confer authority within Wikipedia. We recognize that you have intimate knowledge of the AGC; however, that knowledge must be tempered with sourced material. Otherwise it is original research which is not what Wikipedia is about. I do believe that AGC is notable, and we want to keep the article. But per Wikipedia policy, it should be independently referenced. As the policy states:

"Information on Wikipedia must be verifiable; if no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, then it should not have a separate article."

Also,

"The barometer of notability is whether people independent of the topic itself (or of its manufacturer, creator, author, inventor, or vendor) have actually considered the topic notable enough that they have written and published non-trivial works of their own that focus upon it – without incentive, promotion, or other influence by people connected to the topic matter."

This is the reason for the tag.

So ... let's work together. Keep up the good work in adding information about AGC. Don'tKnowItAtAll (talk) 17:07, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
