AFEM and GWTEM
[edit]my active duty Navy time spanned from early 2001 until early 2005. I was in the Persian gulf on 9/11, and I deployed again in 2003, serving in both Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. This article claims that one can not hold both the AFEM and the GWTEM...but I do. When I rad this, I double checked my 214, and there it is...both of them.
explanation please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.197.253.16 (talk) 01:52, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- can not hold both for the same time period. Without knowing more of your specifics, I'd guess you have the AFEM for Operation Southern Watch, Operation Northern Watch, or Operation Desert Spring from 2001, and the GWoTEM for OIF and/or OEF from your 2003 deployment. Best guess I can make without knowing more of your specifics. Cheers, Gecko G (talk) 00:59, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
Berlin Access routes between 14 August 1961 and 1 June 1963 & eligibility for AFEM
[edit]18 year old PFC Snuffy starts to drive his 3/4 ton supply vehicle carrying Kotex to West Berlin on August 15, 1961. After crossing over into East Germany from West Germany on a Berlin Access route he gets about 10 feet before his truck breaks down, and he is eventually towed back into West Germany. Based upon that experience, is he eligible for the AFEM?????(& therefore for VFW membership?) Note: Obviously the Berlin Access routes are to be considered part of West Berlin for AFEM purposes, since such Access Routes are not considered part of West Germany. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.14.215.251 (talk) 10:58, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
