I have carried over the "neutrality disputed" template from the Spanish version of the article. According to that version's talk page, Oscar Padrón Favre criticized Carlos Maggi's account of events for nationalism, and some claimed there was a lack of proof that Arerunguá was an area of refuge for the Charrúas or that José Gervasio Artigas redistributed land there (as claimed in the cited article from El País, but not explicitly in this article itself). The Spanish Wikipedia editor suggested the addition of "PADRÓN FAVRE, O., 1999, Artigas y los Charrúas: refutación a "Artigas y su hijo el Caciquillo" de Carlos Maggi [Artigas and the Charrúas: refutation of "Artigas and his son el Caciquillo" by Carlos Maggi]" and other recent references.
