I had read that the new area code will be 932. 216.179.123.111 23:52, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why this is or how to fix it, but under the "External Links" Heading there is a box whose heading says "West Virginia area codes: 304, 681". When you click on "681", it takes you to Area code 414. Being a guy, I naturally assumed I could fix it, but when I hit "edit" I had no clue what was going on. I'm going to go read a manual. This edit broke that; it's fixed now.—Dah31 (talk) 01:56, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Area Code Article Image Standardization Project

[edit]

Hello! I have just replaced the image in this article with a vector graphics version. I am attempting to make all USA area code maps on Wikipedia follow the same graphical motif. You can read more about this project here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Psi%C4%A5edelisto/This_template_is_included_on_all_of_my_area_code_maps_and_explains_things_that_apply_to_all_of_them

If you disagree with the new standard, please let me know. I am eventually going to do all 50 states! But I am only one person and this cannot be automated satisfactorily. --Psiĥedelisto (talk) 15:50, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect map

[edit]

The map's Pennsylvania portion shows 717/223 where 814/582 should be, and 610/484/835 where 717/223 should be. Bill S. (talk) 22:22, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Central office list

[edit]

Recently a list was added to this article (and many others) that show the central office prefixes and exchange area locations, even zip codes. While this may be interesting for some, I have reservations about adding these table to the area code article. Invariably, these are copied from websites that specialize in such topics and update their content more frequently than probably possible here. in WP:NOTADIRECTORY Wikipedias policy is stated that such listings are not the purpose of the project. Anyone can look up the recent information on the Web. I would not even think of going to WP for this. The WP community interested in area code articles needs to think about this. I am undecided, but tend to want to focus on the historical, geographical, and other technical and cultural aspects of the NPAs. kbrose (talk) 17:51, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
