The article states that Ardchattan Priory was founded in 1230 by a Duncan MacDougal, Lord of Argyll. However The Historical Works of Sir James Balfour, Edinburgh 1824, Vol 1, page 47 states: "Duncane Mackuloche foundit the priorey of Ardchattane, in Lome." He records the year as 1231 but the date is not at issue. The name he provides is Duncan MacCulloch not MacDougall. Where is the source of the information relating to the MacDougalls please?

- Mike Salter's 'Medieval Abbeys and Cathedrals of Scotland' (Folly, 2011) gives MacDougall like the article, and 1230. DougieMcC (talk) 09:45, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
Gardens
[edit]The sections on the gardens needs work - are there more sources on them, as at present it relies on long quotations from the website. DougieMcC (talk) 09:47, 23 July 2024 (UTC)
- I've added some to it now, but it's far from perfect. DougieMcC (talk) 20:02, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
