should not be taken too literally. The Danish article that is suggested, is about the prehistory of Denmark. This is clearly different than the archaeology of Denmark. RhinoMind (talk) 17:24, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
Why this article is important
[edit]As this article appears now, it almost calls for a deletion... but... Archaeology of Denmark is important, notable and worthy of an article of its own, nevertheless:
- The archaeology of Denmark has contributed with many fundamental methods to the science of archaeology.
- Archaeology as a science has a long history in the country.
- The archaeology of Denmark has a long history of international engagement, with participation in or initiation of large scale expeditions across the globe.
- The climate and local conditions of Denmark, preserves archaeological items extraordinarily well. Bogs, shallow waters, the cold climate and other factors secures these conditions.
- The history and prehistory of Denmark is rich, varied, extraordinary and of international importance, and hence the results of the archaeology of Denmark.
