40mm gun

[edit]

While it has been stated that a 40mm main gun is to be used, nowhere that I can find does anyone with authority indicate what make/model of gun will be used as yet. Australia has in previous times used Bofors 40mm L60 guns, but no longer has any in service so cannot be used as an indicator. Of the L70 type, the two front runners are the Bofors 40 Mk4 or the Leonardo Fast 40, but the Bushmaster IV 40mm is also a possability. Where does the indication of Bofors on the info pannel come from? 144.139.103.173 (talk) 15:03, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Photographs are of the wrong class of ships

[edit]

None of the photographs of ships in the article are photographs of the actual Arafura-class offshore patrol vessel. It's very misleading that the main photograph for the article is a phot of an entirely different class of ship from a different nation! It's not hard to find photographs of the actual ship, instead of putting pictures of the wrong ship. I don't have time to edit the Wikipedia article now, but someone please correct the photos: here's an article that has photos of the correct ship: https://www.navalnews.com/event-news/indo-pacific-2023/2023/10/australia-lists-arafura-class-opv-as-project-of-concern/

Photographs are of the wrong class of ships - Response

[edit]

@Gato63 The Darussalam-class is of the same design as the as the Arafura class, while there exist some difference, the fundamental design is the same. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the Arafura's that I'm aware of that fall under the appropriate licenses for Wikipedia.
