Caldera Webspyder?

[edit]

Wasn't this used in the "Caldera Webspyder" browser some years ago? -- 89.240.121.154 23:11, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Caldera was one of many companies that bought the rights to the Arachne source code. -- User:Wermlandsdata 18 Dec 2006

When?

[edit]

This article could use some years to indicate when this software was developed and what else was available at the time. --LostLeviathan 15:42, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some dates and a link to the history file. -- User:Wermlandsdata 10 May 2006

CGA

[edit]

Looks like it doesn't provide apect correction, and fails to display an image? Shinobu 18:25, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We decided to render the image as it is to demonstrate the actual pixels used. The CGA mode in Arachne is experimental. There is a way around to make it display images, but they don't display correctly. BTW, try to keep this focused on improving the article. thanks --wL<speak·check> 02:34, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was asking about the aspect correction because I remembered that CGA was a 4:3 mode with rectangular pixels. Because that would make the text look stretched in this image I was confused, but you've confirmed it. This means that something has to be done about this screenshot; I think stretching it by embedding it into an SVG would yield the best results. Shinobu 11:17, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Either that, or resizing to 3200x2400... Shinobu 11:31, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Facebook Lite

[edit]

Why can't Facebook just start a derivative called "Facebook Lite" so secondhand computer hardware from years ago can access Facebook without having to slow down pre-Pentium systems when using Arachne?

It would also be nice if computer geeks would charge a small fee for needy families who would use Arachne on DOS.

Facebook Lite used to exist, but was shut down a few months ago. But http://m.facebook.com/ works well for arachne. --wL<speak·check> 22:43, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Arachne (Internet suite). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
