On 8 May 2021, it was proposed that this article be moved from Apple Mouse to Apple mice. The result of the discussion was moved.

Text and/or other creative content from this version of List of non-mouse controllers by Apple, Inc. was merged into Apple pointing devices with this edit on 4 April 2022 after being nominated for deletion. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.

Innapropriate Wholesale Deletions

Anonymous contributors keep making wholesale deletions without so much as an explanatory discussion. If you wish to correct something please make editorial changes that conform the article to Wikipedia's standards and propose deletion of anything that violates those standards which cannot be satisfactorily deleted. Don't simply delete something with vague references to Wikipedia's policies. Make specific references and link to the violation of those policies. And more importantly become an accountable member of the Wiki community and discuss changes intelligently and democratically.--Mac128 (talk) 15:55, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other users than Apple

Language/Grammar

The correct plural form of "mouse" (when referring to the electrical device) is "mouses", not "mice". The article has been edited accordingly.

Factual inaccuracies

"Apple's transition to USB coincided with the relocation of ports on their laptops from the center to the left edge." - not entirely accurate. Apple switched to USB in 1998/1999 with the iMac, Power Mac G3 B&W, and PowerBook G3 Lombard, but the ports on the PowerBooks remained on the rear edge until the first aluminium PowerBook G4s in 2003. Apple Mouse → Apple mice – Apple doesn't use the name "Apple Mouse" anymore so mouse should be lower-case, as it is a common noun, and plural. This is also the case Apple uses. See also: Apple Keyboard. Shivertimbers433 (talk) 16:38, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't think WP:SINGULAR applies here. An exception in WP:PLURAL is "multiple distinct instances of related items can be sensibly given a plural title" such as Apple having numerous brands of mice. Also WP:NCLL, as this article is a list of products. This is consistent with other articles like Apple-designed processors and Apple displays that wouldn't make sense as singular.-Shivertimbers433 (talk) 21:01, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Whether or not this gets moved, it's worth reviewing the incoming links, since some are referring to a particular model named the "Apple Mouse", rather than the overall concept of mice designed by Apple. For example, at the articles iMac G4, Macintosh Color Classic. Same goes for wikilinks targeting Apple Keyboard. Colin M (talk) 21:21, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support per nom. I do think a plural title is appropriate for the reasons I stated in the keyboard RM (and described by Shivertimbers above). Given the Non-mouse controllers section, there's an argument for a broader title like Apple pointing devices, but I don't feel strongly either way - it's a tradeoff between precision vs. recognizability/naturalness.
