Serious doubts

I have serious doubts about this sentence: "city flourished to the extent that its population eventually numbered half a million". This is a ridiculous number. In it's hayday Rome (II century AD) had a quarter of million. Antiochia had 40 thousands or Ephesus 25 thousands. Odd though it seems, this is the figure generally given in sources, though it has at times been questioned. I have amended the wording to reflect that there is some dispute about the amount. SilkTork ^{✔Tea time} 16:18, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Roman Historical Tidbit
