Redirect

[edit]

Given that this article lacks meaningful narrative content, I redirected it to List of Border representative cricketers. This appears to be the correct result, at least until meaningful narrative content is added. This move has been discussed at Wikipedia talk:Notability (sports)#Cricket. User:Lugnuts immediately reverted the redirect. I am opening this discussion to reach consensus on the validity of the redirect. Cbl62 (talk) 12:58, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:POINT and WP:DE. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:03, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Speaking of WP:DE, where is the evidence that the cricketeer and the lieutenant[1] are even the same person? And please don't use ancestry as a reference, it is not a reliable website (and only duplicates the other source [2] anyway). Fram (talk) 13:29, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Same full name of Anthony Walter Danvers Hanley. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:38, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Claiming that everyone who has voted is known to dislike WP:NSPORTS WP:NCRIC is a massive assumption, and doesn't necessarily negate their arguments. And is not entirely true- I'm broadly supportive of NSPORTS criteria, however I believe it shouldn't just be used as a blanket statement. And there is not enough coverage of this person to warrant a stand alone article. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:51, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@SportsOlympic: ATD-R states: "Suitable venues for seeking a consensus if a redirection is challenged include the article's talk page and Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion." Since a redirect is sought, rather than deletion, what leads you to the conclusion that AFD is a better place to discuss this? Cbl62 (talk) 15:10, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So I take it that if this were renominated by someon in "better standing" than I, you would suppor? Cbl62 (talk) 20:46, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
