Merge into Antenna aperture?

That last post was me, sorry I forgot to login.

So, it seems to me that the content of the two articles, and the concept is similar enough to warrant putting them on the same page. In my experience, effective area and aperture are muddled and used interchangeably. Both articles describe them as the area over which incident EM radiation intensity is effectively captured and turned into power. So perhaps they should be put on the same page and the difference between the two concepts should be made explicit, if there really is one. Rajb245 (talk) 15:16, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Antenna aperture and effective area need to be explained in the same article, or a lot of stuff has to be repeated, and anyway effective area is not an important enough subject to have its own article. --ChetvornoTALK 09:23, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
