Song translation:

[edit]

There's a comment on the translation:

the Portuguese popular saying, "Leave it for tomorrow, don't do it today"

that is probably wrong. The only portuguese saying that I know of which might apply is "don't leave tor tomorrow what you can do today", and that makes more sense with the implied meaning of the song.

Done's and To-do's:

[edit]

I've been working on this page because the content was lacking... Commented out is the info about the AV revival projects, which I will try to write later (if no one does it before me). I think there are a couple of records/covers missing from the tributes section. I would also like to add a couple of photos too (add some if you have any good ones). All in all, I think this is looking good so far... Please correct any inaccuracies and add pertinent information that might have been forgotten :) 0cm 23:59, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not bad at all! --AnYoNe! 05:10, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. There's still a lot that needs to be added/improved. I'm thinking of the aforementioned revival chapter, the documentary they made about him (there's at least one that I know of) and some actual references (newspaper/magazines/books) to back-up some claims. But it takes so much time to look them up... X) A trivia section would also be nice. There are some informative and amusing facts about AV. 0cm 23:02, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AV userbox

[edit]

I did a little AV user box template, just for fun. Feel free to use it :)

Alrite

I was thinking that the intro "Despite his short-lived career, due to his premature death at the age of thirty-nine" doesn't make that much sense as for a rock star 39 is pretty old so I changed it

LOL, what is this? The Middle Ages? Death at 39 IS premature! Anyone would agree that AV died prematurely, lifespan-wise and career-wise. In fact, whenever you see an interview, newspiece or article about him, that's the first thing they mention, how he died so soon. Thanks for contributing to the article though, it's nice to see someone else is interested in AV. 0cm 15:37, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would also like to add that he is perhaps not that "culturally significant", until recently, he was a bit forgotten by musicians and the public. I do think he is one of the most significant artists in portuguese pop, but for a long time, and perhaps a bit because of the AIDS rumours, he was cast aside and all but forgotten. But it seems that now, his place in history is secure, at least for a while :) 0cm 15:48, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Variações trumps.jpg

[edit]

Image:Variações trumps.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
