The datation of the Anonymus Valesianus II to 527 should either be supported by another (secondary) source, or it should be abandoned at all, as the quotation in the note 3 of T. S. Burns, The Ostrogoths, p. 66, is misrepresentation. It actually reads as follows: 'The Anonymous Valesianus covered the period 474-526 esssentially from a Catholic-exarchate point of view and was probably written near Ravenna ca. 540-550.'--AndronikosB (talk) 19:00, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
