Personal life/biography

[edit]

I don't have time to do this right now, but there's a lot of material here which could be harvested for a brief biography of Wills' personal life. While we don't need to go into all the salacious details that the article does, her associations with Edward Fox and Anthony Newley and marriage to Michael Gough are probably noteworthy. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 09:07, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If she was born in October 1941 as stated, then she would have been 18 when she worked on The Strange World of Gurney Slade and had a relationship with Anthony Newley, not 17. It was made in the summer/autumn of 1960. 2A00:23C8:8F9F:4801:46B:6210:328F:2008 (talk) 00:15, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

So I take it that because of her Dutch decent, her first name is pronounced AHH-neh-keh, rather than Ann-EKE. Correct? Zweifel 14:00, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's short for "Anna Katarina". Which'd be the Swedish spelling of the names. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.37.70.249 (talk) 14:50, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copyedit request

[edit]

I placed the "copyedit" template on this article. There are several places where, between the poor syntax and such on one hand and my lack of knowledge of this actress' life on the other, I can not even be sure what was intended, and therefore can not edit it myself. Frankly, I have to suspect that English is a second language for the person responsible for much of this text. Somebody please help this article! Ted Watson (talk) 21:35, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article looks a lot better now, so I've removed the tag. Thanks to those who pitched in! Ted Watson (talk) 21:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracies

[edit]

As Anneke's friend, biographer and publisher I can say that much of the text on this page is inaccurate. I have tried before to edit it but somehow it gets changed back. So - whoever keeps saying that Anneke was born in Rotterdam - stop it! She was born in Berkshire. I will be rewriting this whole article at some point but if you must make changes please have the common sense to refer to her autobiography first! Well, somebody did indeed just do a massive edit to the article, but it's a different IP than this fellow, and appears to be verbatim from here, which is not allowed under Wiki-regs. Since the previous content appears to be significantly in error, reverting doesn't seem to be a good idea. So, what now? --Ted Watson (talk) 21:21, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Daughter?

[edit]

The Michael Gough article mentions that Anneke has a daughter, Polly. This isn't mentioned in this article. Natural follow-up question is whether the daughter was named after her Doctor Who character. 70.73.90.119 (talk) 19:06, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage date with Michael Gough change

[edit]

Following a recent discussion at Talk:Michael Gough the 1962 date for the marriage of Michael Gough and Anneke Wills was changed from 1962 to 1965 as the latter would seem to be correct (and the former impossible). I have therefore changed this here as well. Dunarc (talk) 23:47, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
