I have added a reference to her obituary in The Times, and included a very brief summary of it. Peter Maggs 21:28, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have now expanded this article out with material mainly from the internet, and am trying to get her picture, since she was a devastatingly attractive woman. Peter Maggs 19:11, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Women's Gossip Project?

[edit]

HEY FOLKS—what the &^%$#@ kind of "Wiki Women's History Project" sponsors an article about an important woman SCULPTOR without a single image of a single one of her SCULPTURES??? There is a picture of the subject at age 17 (she lived to 84!). There another with mom and sis, in which she's about 2 years old. And then there one of her grave! This reminds me of the "women's pages" in American newspapers in the 1950-70s, featuring recipes, lots of home-making, a bit of romance, and gossip, designed to keep women distracted and contented with their lot. I can't say I know a whole lot about the work of this sculptress (a feminized term sure to ignite wrathful condemnations from those who probably didn't notice the real sexism at work here)... but I remember seeing photos of some of her work and being very impressed. She was not a lightweight. Someone who knows her work well should fix this page. This is trivializing and insulting to her memory. (ADDENDUM: There is a sculpture on Anna M's grave, and it is shown in the photo. It is identified as "a copy of one of her sculptures" in a travel blog https://www.travelblog.org/Photos/4165907 - is it a good copy? Not sure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.7.202.18 (talk) 04:57, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Musician???

[edit]

Why is Anna Mahler described as a 'musician'? I have never seen or heard anything of the sort; and the article text contains nothing to support the characterisation... Pfistermeister (talk) 22:53, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good point - I have no idea. She associated with musicians - and married one - but there is no indication that she was a "musician" as such. Peter Maggs (talk) 17:31, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that -- though actually she married *three*! With all due respect to whoever wrote the sentence, I am revising it. Pfistermeister (talk) 04:00, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that this edit is the source for the misunderstanding. "Gifted musician" says only that she showed some musical talent in her youth (which may well be the case). The disimprovement followed later. The description as "musician" should be removed. --FordPrefect42 (talk) 08:03, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dates

[edit]

"It is probably in 1970 that she married her fifth husband, Albrecht Joseph (1901–1991), a Hollywood film editor and writer of screenplays. After her mother died in 1964, Anna, now financially independent, returned to London for a while before finally deciding to live in Spoleto in Italy in 1969."
